The Women’s Auxiliary is a volunteer service and fundraising group that seeks to support The Salvation Army in its mission of spiritual and social services to all. The central Maryland Women’s Auxiliary was chartered in 1952. Auxiliary members serve on committees designed to support humanitarian services provided by The Salvation Army.
Annually the Women’s Auxiliary hosts events including Spring Fling, Christmas Festival, and the May Garden Party to raise money for a variety of The Salvation Army’s programs. These women volunteer at nursing homes, churches, help prepare food for The Salvation Army’s FeedMore program, and they also donate toiletries to The Salvation Army Booth House. One of the largest gift giving programs that the Women’s Auxiliary participates in every year is the Angel Tree program, which matches donors with children from qualified families to ensure children receive gifts and clothing during the holidays.
Today, The Salvation Army of central Maryland’s Women’s Auxiliary has over 100 active members and they provided over 650 service hours last year.
